Energiø Bornholm met young people at the Bornholm Education Fair 2025

The Bornholm Education Fair 2025 took place this week, and Energiø Bornholm was represented with a joint stand – created in collaboration between Jobcenter Bornholm, Baltic Energy Island, Offshore Center Bornholm, Business Center Bornholm, and Campus Bornholm. Together, the partners focused on the many opportunities that Energiø Bornholm brings for education, jobs, and local development.

The day attracted interest from students, teachers, and parents alike, who were curious to find out how Energiø Bornholm will shape the energy system of the future – and what skills will be in demand as the island develops into a green hub in the Baltic Sea.

At the stand, visitors could learn about:

    • Which technologies and subject areas will be important in the coming years
    • Which educational and career paths the project opens up within energy, technology, the environment, data, crafts, and project management

Throughout the day, the partners behind the stand had good dialogues with young people who showed interest in both educational paths and job opportunities in the growing energy sector.

“It's awesome to meet curious young people who can see themselves in the green transition. Energy Island Bornholm isn't just an energy project—it's an opportunity to create the jobs of the future here on the island,” says Allan Funch Kofod, Recruitment Consultant at Jobcenter Bornholm.

A big thank you goes to the organizers of Bornholm Education Fair 2025 and to all the young people who stopped by. The collaboration between the five organizations shows that Energiø Bornholm is already building bridges between education, business, and the labor market of the future—perhaps with some of the students we met at the fair.

Network for apprentice on Bornholm: Action, community, and the professionals of the future

On Friday, September 26, adrenaline and camaraderie were running high when 21 apprentices from various companies on Bornholm took part in a paintball event organized by the Bornholm Apprentice Network. With paintballs flying through the air and laughter filling the air, the day was an unforgettable experience, where young people from many different fields had the opportunity to meet across industries and get to know each other in a fun and informal setting.

“It was really cool to meet other apprentices – we had fun and talked about everything from work to leisure. You feel like you're part of something bigger,” said one of the participants.

The event is part of the network's efforts to strengthen solidarity among young people in education and create a breeding ground for both professional and personal development. On an island like Bornholm, where many apprentices work in small businesses, it can be difficult to find like-minded people – and this is where the apprentice network plays an important role.

The apprentice network makes a difference

The apprentice network on Bornholm is more than just social events. It is a community that builds bridges between young people, companies, and professional fields. By bringing together apprentices from fields such as crafts, retail, gastronomy, and office work, new relationships, inspiration, and a sense of belonging are created, which can be crucial for well-being and retention in education.

The network also helps to strengthen Bornholm's business community. When apprentices thrive and feel part of a larger community, they are more likely to stay on the island and continue their careers here. This helps to ensure a skilled workforce and a vibrant local community.

    The future looks bright

Paintball Day is just one example of how the apprentice network works to create value for apprentices and for the island. Several events are already in the pipeline, and the ambition is clear: to make Bornholm one of the best places in the country to be an apprentice.
